Add SiteMinder or Replace the Hotel PMS with Smart Order?

Keep a useful existing PMS on the shortlist when the main problem is distribution and a supported added connection resolves it. Consider a replacement when the reception workflow itself needs to change. Compare the complete connected setup and migration work before choosing either route.

Smart Order documents reservation work from a mobile dashboard on its front-desk page. Its pricing page separates the free Essential core from OTA and booking-engine add-ons and the Professional operating features. Confirm the current scope for your own property before buying.

What the documented products let you evaluate

SiteMinder describes integrating its channel and booking tools with supported PMS products. Check its current PMS finder for your exact system and confirm the implementation scope. Smart Order documents an operating PMS with channel and booking-engine options. A product description does not establish compatibility with every existing hotel installation.

Start with the current front desk

List the arrival, departure, payment and room-handover tasks that already work and those causing difficulty. Ask staff to perform a representative shift. If the main difficulty is repeated channel updates, examine the proposed added connection. If the existing reception workflow fails the agreed requirements, evaluate replacement alongside the connected alternative.

Compare the same channel and direct-booking tasks

Use the same room mapping, rate plans and sales sources for both proposals. Follow an authorized website or OTA reservation, amendment and cancellation into the PMS record. Confirm supported fields, expected timing and the party responsible for investigating a discrepancy.

Count the total operating cost

For the added-service route, include the current PMS, proposed service, interfaces, setup and support. For replacement, include migration, training and the overlap with the existing contract. Obtain the figures for the same property, billing period and required functions. Keep payment-provider and hardware costs separate.

Decide who owns an incident

Ask which supplier handles mapping, missing bookings, payment questions and local hardware issues. Rehearse the escalation route. Compare the administrative work of coordinating the proposed suppliers with the changes required to replace the operating system. Neither route removes the need for a clear local incident coordinator.

Make the decision in Japan or Thailand

Have local colleagues test the screens and instructions in the languages they need. Check the actual local booking accounts and payment arrangements. Retain the current PMS when the demonstrated connected route meets your needs; choose replacement when its demonstrated operational benefit and agreed transition work justify the change.

Your next step

Bring your room types, current booking sources, staff roles and an example of the workflow that causes difficulty. Ask for a demonstration against that example and written terms for the proposed setup.
